La Almazara de Paulenca is in the heart of the Geopark of Granada.



The Geopark of Granada, declared World Geopark by UNESCO in 2020, has 4,722 km2 of 47 municipalities belonging to the regions of Guadix, Baza, Huéscar and Montes, extends over an exceptional territory in the central sector of the Betic Cordillera surrounded by some of the highest mountains of the Iberian Peninsula, such as the Sierra de la Sagra or Sierra Nevada. The geology of the region has conditioned the life and culture of its inhabitants from prehistoric times to the present day.

They are inhospitable lands, of a singular beauty, that safeguard a significant and unique part of our geological heritage in the European continent that, with the universal language of rocks, does not leave indifferent those who come to know its exciting history

Geopark, Recommended routes



We recommend hiking trails in the surroundings to enjoy the unique environment, we think that with the explained can enjoy more of the environment and above all respect it. We advise you to go for a walk to discover the surroundings by yourself. We recommend two routes, a classic one from the house and a longer one starting from a more distant point.


PR-A 153, viewpoint at the end of the world
This route is the most recommended and the best known of Paulenca. It leads to the famous viewpoint of the end of the world, it takes about three quarters of an hour from the rural house.

PR- A 426, the colorados
This circular route is 40 minutes by car from the enclosure, it is the most advisable, because it is the most beautiful. The difficulty is higher and you have to be well prepared, we recommend it to those who have experience.
